Project Summary
Voltrun Project aims to develop a sensitive and selective analytical device that suitable for on-site analysis for the determination of heavy metal ions (Pb (II), Cd (II), Cu (II) and Mn (II)) in soil and water samples.
The system, which can analyze heavy metal concentrations by using a voltammetric method which is an electrochemical measurement technique, consists of an electrochemical cell, pumps and valves to automatically transfer the solutions, combustion module for the decomposition of impurities and a potentiostat. The studies include the development of appropriate sensors and methods that can accurately perform the analysis of heavy metals, the development of potentiostat as a detector, and the development of software to control system components from a single interface. The developed automatic voltammetry system can be used to reduce environmental pollution by taking part in the rapid and precise analysis of heavy metal concentrations in environmental samples.
